The newest member of the Blues Attack on keyboards is ‘Sudden’ Steve Binsberger.
Born in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia, Steve started his musical career at age 5 when his parents bought him his first keyboard (a tiny 27 key Emenee organ). He would play that for hours driving his parents crazy. At 8yrs old he started playing the accordion and banging away at an old player piano. He got a taste of performing in bars at age 13 and spent many years honing his craft by playing in several “garage bands” around the Philadelphia area.
Finally, while attending Penn State University, he met Billy Price. Steve spent many years on the road playing Blues and R&B with Pittsburgh great Billy Price and the Keystone Rhythm Band. He left Billy Price and went back to school to continue his education and later joined local band 8 th Street Rox performing in and around Pittsburgh for some 22 years. Recently, wanting to get back to his blues roots, he joined Jill West and Blues Attack.
You can find his playing on several albums and CD’s from Billy Price, Bill Toms and Hard Rain, Jimmy Adler, Joe Gruscheky and the House Rockers, as well as other local bands.
